Robert K. MacEwen, PhD

Personal

Rob is passionate about equipping students with skills for interpreting the Bible so that they can apply God’s word and teach it to others. His book on the relations between the Gospels, which challenges the dominant paradigm, has been cited by many other scholars. Rob has been a global nomad since childhood, having grown up in four different US states and four other countries. Before coming to Tyndale, he served as a missionary in Singapore, Taiwan, elsewhere in East Asia, and the USA. In his spare time he enjoys taking walks with his wife, learning languages, visiting museums, reading about current events, and watching movies—especially in the science fiction and superhero genres. Rob’s wife Lisa is originally from South Korea. They are missionaries with Global Outreach International. They have one daughter, Lydia, who is a nursing student at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, USA.
