Certificate of Theological Studies

The program for the CTS is equivalent to one year of full-time studies, but it can be done part-time, as well. This certificate program offers a good balance of introductory courses in Bible and Theology, along with ministry and intercultural courses.

The ideal student for the CTS is one who desires an introductory theological education for personal or ministry reasons. This certificate program is limited to students who are in the EU, or have a valid residence permit for the Netherlands. No scholarships are offered for this program.

Program description

• This certificate program does not require courses in the biblical languages, nor does it require a thesis.

• It is equivalent to one full-time year of study, comprising 60 credits (ECTS), but can be completed on a part-time schedule. The Curriculum is similar to that of the first-year MDiv student, although the biblical languages are not required.

• Systematic Theology and Church History – 28 Credits

• Practical and Intercultural Theology – 3 Credits

• Electives – 15 Credits

• Mentoring – 2 Credits
