Dr. Fred Lian, a retired senior pastor and licensed counselor, offered a 2 day pastoral counseling workshop for the Tyndale community and for those from local churches. He discussed qualities needed to be a pastoral counselor, the kinds of questions to ask, what to discuss in the first session, and many other practical elements to consider when conducting pastoral counseling. Dr. Lian has over 35 years of experience as a licensed counselor, so his experience and personal examples enriched the discussions to make them applicable.
Students, faculty, and alumni from Tyndale were in attendance as well as those from churches in other cities including The Hague, Leiden, Amsterdam, and Ede. Attendees had the opportunity to ask a variety of questions, which gave the workshop a more personal feel. It provided tools for those associated with Tyndale as well as helped to advance Tyndale's vision to further equip and impact the church in the Netherlands.
