Tyndale Theological Seminary

Meet Gavin Douglas - Our New Director of Information Technology (IT)

Gavin Douglas.

1.) What do you do at Tyndale?

I serve as the IT Director and act as the IT specialist and systems consultant, helping to optimise digital tools and platforms for the seminary. My role involves ensuring smooth technology implementation, supporting faculty and students, and working on digital transformation initiatives to enhance learning and administration. I am currently working on the Tyndale school & learning management system which we are excited to launch soon. I am working out the kinks and setting up our learning material that will help us navigate the systems.

2.) What did you do before Tyndale?

Before joining Tyndale, I spent my career in business and digital transformation, working as a solution architect and operations excellence manager. I specialised in implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems), streamlining business processes, and enhancing efficiency across various industries, particularly in major supply chain, logistics, banking, and telecommunications.

3.) What do you do besides serving at Tyndale?

Outside of Tyndale, I study history and economics and technology.  I read a lot! I am actively building my personal brand, writing about theology, technology, and faith-based leadership.  I also do freelance consulting, engage in fitness and personal growth, and spend try and spend as much quality time with my family as we can.

4.) Why did you want to come and serve at Tyndale?

I felt called to use my skills in technology and operations to serve in a faith-based environment, where I could contribute to the growth of theological education. Tyndale provides the perfect space for me to merge my professional expertise with my passion for ministry and discipleship.

5.) What have you enjoyed most during your time serving at Tyndale?

I have enjoyed the sense of community and purpose, working alongside like-minded individuals who are committed to equipping future leaders in ministry. Being able to use my technical skills to support theological education has been both fulfilling and inspiring.

6.) What are your future plans?

I plan to continue growing in my role at Tyndale while expanding my research, writing and digital ministry efforts. My goal is to create meaningful content, develop innovative solutions for Christian education, and possibly take on more leadership responsibilities in faith-based technology initiatives.
