This yearâs theme is âControversial Points in the Biblical Theology of Isaiah: Learning to Interpret with the Biblical Writersâ
Dr. Gentry will explore this topic in three lectures:

Double Fulfillment, Sensus Plenior, or Long-Distance Prediction: What kind of interpretation of the Old Testament is behind Matthewâs appeal to Isaiah 7:14?
Challenging the Consensus on âalmâ â Young Woman or Young Virgin?
Solving the exegetical and textual problems surrounding Isaiah 7:14 â Current scholarship denies that the word almâ means virgin. Was Matthew mistaken in his interpretation or misled by the Septuagint?
